Letters to People I Hate

People are horrible and annoying. They need to be told this on a regular basis, through formal letters.

Dear long time reader, first time jackass,

So James, I completely agree with most of your comment. Obviously my venting from the relative anonymity of the internet isn’t going to change anyone’s behavior. And when I’m not at work and people do irritating things, like putting heavy groceries on top of squishy groceries, speaking up would most likely rectify the situation. I admit to being bad at that. If you recall my letter to the obnoxious partygoer you would remember that at times I have told people exactly what was on my mind.

My main trouble is a filter. I think I am hilarious and once I get going on a tirade about someone I can get mean. This is completely inappropriate with customers where I work and therefore my only hope is “to spew at them from the safety of (my) precious keyboard.” I’m no good at  telling customers how to do something “better” with a smile, it would come out with all the intended rudeness of an insult.

As for “allowing people to infuriate, intimidate and anger” me, don’t worry so much about it. It’s the Internet. To get noticed you need to use hyperbole. Writing these letters has helped get rid of the irritation I get after a day of work. Sure, some guy puked in the men’s bathroom sink, but at least I get a letter out of it! The letters are cathartic and entertain me. They are fun to write and fun to read. If you don’t like them or the idea behind them, don’t read. No one made you come to the site and I won’t miss you.

Sincerely,

Kelly

PS. I quoted bits of your post in hopes of irritating you. Does letting you know make it less passive aggressive? Just trying to get it right.
