Dear guy tailgating on the highway,
I love you. Unusual, I know.
I was driving home from Fort Wayne after visiting my mom for a few days. A massive black SUV was flying up behind me as I was passing two semis. I knew he wouldn’t be slowing down. Asshole.
He drove about a car length from my bumper as I passed the trucks. Usually I wouldn’t speed up when being tailgated, but at 75 mph, I saw no need to piss you off. I upped my speed to 80 and as soon as it was safe, pulled in front of the second semi. A few more slow cars were in front of me so I had to brake a little. I wanted to go a reasonable speed but SUV guy would have ridden my bumper for miles if I tried to pass all the cars going 65.
Then you came up. If the guy tailgating me was going over 80 you must have been doing 90. You two were cut from the same mold. Same huge black SUV, shiny despite the salty roads, same disregard for the safety of others. The only different is I hate him and I love you. You wanted to drive fast. You drove right up to the other guy and had to brake suddenly to avoid a collision. You stayed on his tail until he passed a few slow cars.
Then he slid in front of one of them so you could recklessly speed away. I love you. You gave him the same treatment he gave me. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Kelly
